Out of Town Rides for 2012

Check out these great Fall Rides! Specific details about the rides are below.  This list is not all inclusive, but it does cover most of the nearby rides.   Norm, Frank, Teri, Kitty, Jan, Mike, Jim, and many others have done one or more of these rides; they can tell you all about them.

Mellow Johnny's Classic Mountain Bike Race March 3, 4, 2012.
The Mellow Johnny's Classic is back again at the beloved and rarely-ridden Flat Creek Crossing Ranch. The UCI Category 1 Pro XCT race is first on the 2012 tour calendar, with over 100 pro men and women traveling to the hill country to chase tour points. There's racing for all categories, including ladies and a Kid's Cup. The race is a Team LIVESTRONG event. Team LIVESTRONG registration opens today, January 13, 2012. Standard registration will open January 30, 2012.

5th Annual LBJ 100 Tour March 24, 2012.
Online registration is now available for the 5th Annual LBJ 100, March 24, 2012, at the LBJ Ranch near Stonewall, Texas. Complimentary T-shirts made of professional-grade material are guaranteed for pre-registrants, a newly designed professional cyclist jersey is available for purchase, a $1,000+ Novara Strada Bike 2012 will be raffled, and the usual post-ride complimentary great food and beverages, along with the enlightening participant camaraderie, await.

Austin Autism Society Bike Ride April 1, 2012.
ROUTES are of approximately 9, 24, and 42 miles, and 100K with START & FINISH at the Berry Springs County Park and Preserve. All routes pedal through moderately flat terrain interspersed with rolling hills on the eastern side of Williamson County. Riders must obey all traffic laws. Helmets must be worn. Rest stops will be available throughout the ride. SAG vehicles will be patrolling the routes to help with mechanical troubles and to pick up riders with any problems. Please be prepared to handle your own flats and minor problems.

PLEASE NOTE: FAMILY TRAIL RIDE WILL BE LIMITED TO THE FIRST 100 ENTRANTS. THE LONGER RIDES (9, 24 AND 42 MILES, 100K) WILL BE CAPPED AT THE FIRST 300 ENTRANTS.

The 2012 Easter Hill Country Tour April 6, 7, 8, 2012.
The Fort Worth Bicycle Association is hosting three days of fully-supported riding over the 2012 Easter weekend, April 6,7 and 8 in the gorgeous Texas Hill Country for only $45. The Bluebonnets and the vistas are unrivaled anywhere in Texas. We would love to have you and your club members/riding friends join us for this event. Please share this note or use your newsletter/website to help us promote what should be a great event. Brochures and posters are fortcoming. All rides will start and finish in Kerrville with each day offering multiple options at distances ranging from about 20 to 100 miles. All rides are fully-supported with rest stops at strategic intervals along the routes supplemented by roving SAG vehicles.
